friday flowers: time out

Sometimes, I feel like all I'm doing is rushing around and panicking about all the things that need doing in a new business - website, stock control, orders, PR, client services - freaking out about *money* - while trying to develop the business, fulfill orders, negotiate deals, find suppliers and service partners... and be in the shop seven days a week, manning the till and learning what it is that clients and customers want us to deliver.

And in among the happy madness I'm not finding time to do the things that keep me sane and balanced - eating properly, exercise, painting my toes (no, really, that's right up there with wheatgrass and cardiovascular fitness in terms of health benefits), let alone inspired - blogging, reading, yoga, spending time with my favorite people...

until then, boom, a moment comes along that just reminds me to stop, and literally smell the roses!

Like this week when I rushed off cross country to fetch flowers from our lovely wholesaler, stressing that my boot was already full with a vintage trunk I'd picked up from a dealer, and distressed that I first had to swing by the recycling centre with dozens of cardboard boxes (the dark side of retailing is the packaging waste), making me late.

I always feel better when I'm at the wholesaler - it's impossible not to, and while I was paying inside, the lovely Steve managed to somehow squeeze everything into my car boot for me.

So when I got back to the shop, this is what I found:

The prettiest car boot in the whole of Hamble.
Make that the whole of England.
Probably, no definitely, the whole of the United Kingdom
and, indeed, the universe.
