friday flowers: seeing cyclamen

I'm unsure about cyclamen. 


I bought one the other week and its moved from the office, to my bedroom, to a shelf in the dining room. 



I like the pink.


I *hate* the variegated leaves. (I feel extraordinarily passionate about variegated leaves) 


But is it an old-lady flower? 


And then I stumbled upon Camilla Engman, who put them into perspective: 



'it looks almost like a pack of sensitive and a little nervous Italian greyhounds with fluttering nostrils'

Too true!
