meat-free monday: amazing asparagus

May is absolutely without a doubt
the best month in England.
I was going to say 'my most favorite' but for the sake of accuracy, I went with 'the best'.

The roses are out - and England does roses *properly*:

The weather's pretty good - and every good day feels like a bonus
whereas later in the season it feels like every day should be a beautiful day - and they often are not!

It's the start of the summer season and all that England does best: Chelsea Flower show promises Wimbledon, Henley, IOW, and BBC Proms to follow.

Best of all - England grows asparagus.

Best dinner in May:
Roasted asparagus with lemon juice, salt, pepper and parmesan.
Ten minutes from start to finish, and that includes warming up the oven.

Actually, that's right up there in the list
of best dinners any time.
