coolest royal wedding present ever?

A must for Royalist Salad Lovers everywhere.

Or maybe if they'd bothered inviting me,
I would have put all my pennies with his granny's head on together, and bought Will and Kate one of these for their own kitchen...
Seriously, I couldn't make this up if I tried!

Immediate thought process:

How many people are involved in the production process of a refrigerator?

Surely someone, somewhere, from design through finance, through production through to the shop floor might have said
'Um...you know, I just don't think this will work.'

Apparently, I am wrong.

'As expected, the royal wedding has really captured the U.K.’s imagination and it was no surprise that a William and Kate commemorative fridge was a popular choice,'
 said
David Garden, Commercial Director for GE at Glen Dimplex Home Appliances.
'It certainly wipes the floor with your usual commemorative tea towels and mugs and is most definitely one of the most novel Royal Wedding products we have seen.'

I couldn't get my head around it.

And then it turns out that this was a result GE asking fans on Facebook what wedding memorabilia they would like to see.

Well - there you have it.

GE Fans on Facebook.

That is NOT what the internet was made for!

But I guess maybe these are the people that have probably already bought the tea-towels, fridge magnets and matching coffee cups.
