lonesome lullaby

I'm thirty-whatever.

Whenever I get bleak, or lonely, or miss my friends,
living halfway across the world,
I feel better if I think of the
Linda Ronstadt and James Ingram song from

And even though I know how very far apart we are
It helps to think we might be wishing
On the same bright star

And when the night wind starts to sing a lonesome lullaby
It helps to think we're sleeping
Underneath the same big sky.

How amazing is this picture of the Milky Way over the Karoo?

I'm going to find those stars when I'm next in South Africa.

When I wish upon tonight's star,
it'll be that Dr Ravensberry can come too.

And when I get to the Karoo,
imagine how many wishes I get then!
