Starbucks made me fat

I'm a brideslave on December 18, and about to get into big trouble.

I needed to take my frock from something like this:

to this:

I've been complaining about the evils of High Fructose Corn Syrup,
blaming the laundromat for tumble drying my clothes too high,
and battling with the portion sizes in the US - see below exhibits A and B.

Exhibit A: Before tucking in to lunch

Exhibit B: Stuffed.

My mother could have fed a family of four on that much food...
with enough left over for school lunchboxes the next day.

But she also made us eat all our food, and think about the other kids who didn't have enough. It's a hard lesson to let go of, even at age thirtysomething and particularly when the calamari from Primo Patio is *so* good.

And then, light dawned.

Well, it was already light.

It was 9am and I was lined up for Starbucks.

I looked around, and in a total Carrie Bradshaw moment,
 I freaked out:

'Is Starbucks not only costing me money, but my waistline as well?'

(Only that skinny bitch never had to think that ever.)

A quick google search told me my Tall Non Fat Mocha, No Whip
(all capitalised for Importance)
was only 170 calories, so the answer should be No.

But I decided to go cold turkey, although weekends are different and I had my
Starbucks hit on Saturday and Sunday.

So more like lukewarm leftover turkey.

And in 13 days I've lost 6lbs; 4cm; and saved $34.65.

There then. Starbucks makes you fat. And poor. Fact.

Can I get sued for saying that on the internet?

Re-write: Starbucks made me fat.

Disclaimer:
My theory is that the sweetness hit from the mocha starts me on a sweet-sour cycle that ruins me for the day. And too much milk is just bad news for waistlines. I'm no nutritionist but the numbers are the numbers. I bet you £34.65 if you gave it up you'd see a difference in your measurements, scales and wallet, too.

I'm so glad I never started on coffee in college. Sadly, all of the money I've saved has been blown on decorating magazines.

P.S. Thanks so much for stopping by La Lamp Shade!
